The gym is set up, we are ready to start practicing at Ponderosa.  Thank you to everyone who came and helped out.  Your efforts are appreciated.

The first summer workout will be Wednesday, July 18, from 9 am to 10:30 am.  All girls interested in doing high school gymnastics are welcome. All I need is the camp registration form I have attached.

The other dates for the planned summer workouts are July 23, 25 and 30, August 1 and 6.  Same times. On July 6th we will be taking a team picture for the athletic program.  These camps are optional and are about getting to know the program.  Please come and see what the program is about.

The first official and mandatory practice day is August 13.
The mandatory parent meeting will be the 13th, starting at 6:00.

The entire schedule for the season is on the web page http://gymnastics.ponderosaathletics.com/cal/info.php?etp=SE.  I am currently working on adding one or two more meets.

Please feel free to e-mail or call me if you have any questions.

Summer is here!!

I plan to get an e-mail out soon detailing the summer program.  I am just waiting to get some information regarding summer workouts.

Gym set up will be July 9, 10, and 11.  From 6 pm to 8 pm.  Please wear tennis shoes and clothes that can get dirty.

We will start our summer practices at Ponderosa on July 18 from 9 am - 10:30.
There is no fee for the summer practices, nor are the practice required.  There is a summer camp form, which will be sent out by e-mail, and needs to be turned in on the first day of summer practice.
Additional dates are July 23, 25, 30, August 1 and 6.  The time remains the same 9 am - 10:30.

Our first official / required practice will be August 13th starting at 4:00.  All registration forms need to be turned in at this time.

Tryouts will be the week of August 20 - 24.

Ponderosa has moved to a new web platform.  I plan on using this blog while I figure out the new webpage.  I will try to post similar information on both pages.
The address of the new page is
http://gymnastics.ponderosaathletics.com/
One really nice feature of the new page is the calendar.  I have tried to update it completely for the entire season.  Please check it out.  If you have any questions, just ask me.
http://gymnastics.ponderosaathletics.com/cal/info.php?etp=SE
You can also get your registration forms on the page as well.

The online registration is not up and running yet.  Hopefully, I will have time this summer to figure out this feature.

Please feel free to contact me via e-mail if you would like more information, or you have questions.

Gym Stuff Leap Day Edition

Time is flying by quickly.

I think camps are fun and a great way to jump start gymnastics. Or just to give that extra push to get a skill or two.
It always helps to go to camp in shape to get the most out of it.
As I get information about more camps, I will post the information here.

DU has information up about their summer camps.

Typically, I coach at a camp at Hamline University every summer. If anyone is interested in going to St Paul, MN when I am coaching, e-mail me, and I will get the information about the week I coach out to you. The camp is $515 for overnight campers.

I also encourage all gymnasts to go out for a spring sport. Participating in any sport this time of year will help with conditioning and coordination. There are many choices: track, tennis, soccer and golf.

If you are looking for more information about the gymnastics program at Ponderosa, please send me an e-mail. lisa(dot)fischer(at)dcsdk12(dot)org

Gymnastics Questions?

As 8th grade orientations start across the district, I know questions come up regarding the gymnastics program at Ponderosa and what it means to be a co-op.

Please feel free to contact me with any questions through my school e-mail lisa(dot)fischer(at)dcsdk12(dot)org.
